It was a long week this week. My uncle's funeral was beautiful, hard, but beautiful. My sister, her kids, and my brother's baby and girlfriend were here since Thursday. It was nice to spend time with them. My dogs loved having the kids here. Especially Desmond. He got to play and be loved on. He loved it. Both dogs now are passed out from all the fun and stress they had this weekend. I can say Meka was happy to see them leave but I think Des was sad to see them leave. He kept looking at me and I could just tell he was asking if he could keep one. My sister and my windshield both got broke over the weekend. Mine just keeps cracking farther and farther in two spots. Thank goodness for insurance!
Tomorrow we go back to work, sigh... I felt like I had no weekend. Nate starts a new shift tomorrow. He is now going to be working 7-3. I am happy for this. By the time he is getting ready to leave I am getting up and I actually get to see him off. That will be nice.

Google Maps
Hey Everyone!
So I just wanted to share a recent discovery of mine with you. I was recently goofing around on Google Maps trying to find some of my apartments from my mission when I discovered that they now have street view enabled in the larger cities in Romania! (See below for an old Apartment of mine.) Now obviously that part is only exciting to me, but after looking around, it is also available in other areas too! Sadly not yet Ukraine, but the France- Switzerland area has VERY detailed images. You can essentially walk down the street and go almost anywhere you want! Ok, I just thought I would share. Enjoy!

Bringing in the New Year.
Well Christmas is now over. Thank goodness for that! Nate got a Nook that he is very happy with. (Thanks Mommy Shelley). I got clothes and a gift card for my favorite clothing store. (Thanks Mommies) That is the big gist of what we got this year.
At the beginning of this week, my Uncle Joe got rushed to the hospital in critical condition. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure a couple of weeks ago. He also had some pneumonia. When they got him to the hospital they hooked him up to a ventilator to get his CO2 down to where it needed to be. Then they had to give him medication to help his heart beat right. They also found that 3/4 of his lungs were full of pneumonia, and knew that he had a blood clot somewhere . They got him stabilized and moved him to IHC in Murray, Utah. They were waking him up more and more over the last few days. They were trying to take him off the heart medication but every time they did his heart would stop. They needed to get him off of it because it was a harmful medication.Yesterday, Thursday 12/30/10, they had him up in a chair and he had a heart attack. They tried to revive him for about 45 minutes, but they couldn't get him to come back. Uncle Joe is now in a better place then we are. He is the old Joe that I grew to know and love very deeply. He is watching over us. I told Nate last night that he is up there watching over our future children. This is the biggest thing that gives me comfort. Uncle Joe I love you and will miss you dearly! Save me a spot on the bench I know you are sitting on to wait for us!
We have decided to have the viewing Friday night and the funeral Saturday. We want to give time for my dad to get home and Joe's brother to also get home. They are both truck drivers.
Enough sadness... Nate and I are going to a party at one of our friends house tonight! It should be fun we are having dinner and playing board games and just hanging out. Then tomorrow I am going to get my nails done and go shopping with friends. Nate will be hanging out with a friend playing games. We want to wish you all a Happy New Year!!! May it bring great joy to all of you!!!

God looked around the garden, and found an empty space. He looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you, and lifted you to rest.God's garden must be beautiful for He only takes the best. He knew that you were weary, and He knew you were in pain, he knew that you would never be well on the earth again. He saw the roads were getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, so He closed your weary eyes, and whispered, "peace be thine."

Christmas Plans for 2010!
I can't believe it is that time of year again. Ba Hum Bug!!!! I told Nate that I hope I get excited again once we have kids. I don't know what it is with this time of year but it is just no fun when you grow up. I want to be little again and have Santa bring me all the fun toys. I also want to be trying to sneak past my parents room with my brother so we can see what Santa brought us.
This year we are spending Christmas Eve at Nate's parents house, along with Christmas morning. Tony said that he would be to Shelly and John's by 5 am. I hope I am up by that point. It actually might be fun to have the girls come wake us up!!! On Christmas day we will be driving back up to Idaho to have the Jorgensen's Famous Breakfast. My mom has to work till about 10-11, so my dad is in charge. We will see if he does a good job.
Nate and I already got our Christmas present. On Black Friday we bought a lap top. We decided on that instead of a TV for our room. (This way Nate can do school where ever we are!) This year had been hard to shop for everyone, I don't know why this year has been so bad. It shouldn't be so hard.
We got Meka and Desmond some new toys and treats. They have already been trying to get us to let them play with the toys. I told them that they better not find them or they would get no Christmas. (I am about to tell Des he don't get a Christmas because he keeps trying to kill us with his deadly farts! Man they stink.)
Merry Christmas!!! ~Kati~

Does anyone still read this?
Hi there everyone! so a lot has happened since march 25th... sorry about the delay on updates. Anyways, here's an update! We moved apartments from our original, and since then we have moved to idaho! craziness I know but it's been really good so far and we both have jobs we're enjoying quite a bit. Back in may we had an addition to our little family, our 2 month old golden retriever that we named Desmond. He's been growing faster than we can keep up but he's been a very kind and loving little guy. Meka loves playing with him but he gets on her nerves sometimes.
At the begining of this month we ran a 5k with some of the Garrett side of the family. Tony, Megan, John Francis, and Mrs. Knickerbocker herself who signed us all up. We all had a wonderful time and no one died. All in all I'd say it was a successful day! We'll be sure to try and keep up on our blog now that we're out of the state. That's all for now!

Mr.and Mrs. Nate Garrett
Its been awhile since either one of us has posted anything. So here it goes... We are finally married. It was a long wait but we're glad that its now over. We are so happy!!! We want to thank all of you that helped and supported us. I want to thank all of you that were there for my endowment session. It was a great experience. Nate and I went none stop all day on our wedding day. But it was worth it. I want to thank those who destroyed our car, and apologize for hiding our car the second night. (Just so you know we didn't want a repeat from the night before.) We had a blast in Lava and now we are just spending time at our apartment together before we go back to work. Again thanks for all the support and love! We love you all!

Moving Part 1
Wow, this was one heck of a busy weekend! We got the apartment lease signed, and we started moving all of Kati's stuff and some of my stuff into the apartment. Alex was cool enough to help us out the first day, and Thanks to my dad we had the use of a truck to move the furniture that we had here. Kati's Mom and friend Lexi were able to come down and bring a bunch of her stuff down from Idaho, including our lovely dog Meka! Kati's brother and his family came down yesterday to bring her couch and desk, and then we all went to Draper to pick up a dresser and dining room table that had been given to us. Also Kati got her bridal pictures taken on Saturday, but I don't know much about that, so I'll let her talk about that if she wants to, because I just know that they were taken, and that's it. Lol! Needless to say it has been a very long weekend and we've all been exhausted by it, but it's great to have most of the moving done now. All that's really left is to move in the rest of my stuff once we get married! So that will be another adventure in itself. Life is good, and there are only about 29 days to go! Invitations will be going out son, so check your mailboxes! That's it for now.
