New Baby!

For some reason I am really in a writing mood today so I thought I should write something somewhat useful like a blog update.  Things have been crazy over the past 2 months.  After 2 hospital stays that combined to about a month Kati gave birth to our darling little Alina Lyn.  She was born on March 22 2012 at 8:59 a.m.  She was born 5 weeks early so she had to stay in the NICU for a couple of weeks but she was eventually allowed to come home on Easter Sunday.   She has been a really good baby at home.  She has her "fussy time" as Kati calls it but other than that she normally does very well.  She loves being in the water for bath time, and loves it when we sing to her.  She will just relax and focus on the singer very intently.  She still has loads of thick dark hair and doesn't show any signs of losing it.  Her eyes appear to be turning blue but it may still be a bit early to tell.  If they do, she may end of looking a lot like her Aunt Angie, and there is nothing wrong with that.  She brings joy into our lives every day, and can brighten any mood with a quick flash of her smile.  We love her very much, and we want to thank everyone who has taken the time to come see her and also everyone for the help the have provided to us so we can make sure she has a healthy home to grow up in.  Thank you, we love you all!

Bun in the Oven!!!

Hey all! Its been a while since we updated our blog. I am not a blogger but hope to become more of one. As most of you know we are expecting our first baby!!! I am 32 weeks along right now. 8 more weeks!!! When we first got pregnant Nate told me he didn't care what we were having. Then the week of the ultra sound he told me that he really wants a girl. I was excited to find out what it was till the day of the ultra sound. I realized that I am more concerned if the baby was healthy and growing like it should, with how sick I was. The ultra sound tech reassured me that our baby is very healthy. At the start of the ultra sound the tech said he was going to try and get the sex of the baby then because that is when they usually are the most willing to show. Our baby did not want us to know. At the end when the tech was checking the heart beat he said from the heart beat he is going to say boy. Then he looked to see if he could see the sex. Our baby spread HER legs to show that she is in fact NOT a boy!!! It was pretty cool! We have chosen the name Alina Lyn Garrett. Alina is Romanian and when Nate told me the name I fell in love with it! Alina is due on April 21st. We can't wait to meet her! (And I can't wait till this pregnancy is over. It has been rough on me.)
On another note, this month Nate and I will be celebrating 2 years of marriage!!! I can't believe it has been 2 years already. How time flies!

Hello Again!

Well at least it hasn't been a full half year since the last post.  Getting close though.  A lot has happened in the last few months.  We bought a house in June and before we even got to move in we headed off to Texas to go visit Dave, Jana, and Ashtyn, and The Ward family.  We had a great time and Kati even thought that she could move there comfortably.  We came back after a wonderful week and the people who we bought the house from still hadn't moved out yet.  It was an annoying few days but they finally left and we got to move into our first home!  In August I started going back to school and life has been really busy.  Also in August we got some good news.  We are going to have a baby!  The approximate due date is April 21st and we couldn't be more excited!    So far everything is going well.  In September 2 of my really good friends got married.  Derek Denney married Whitney, the love of his life.  Unfortunately that was right when Kati started having a very debilitating sickness with the pregnancy that is only now starting to go away, so we weren't able to attend.  Our best wishes go out to Derek and Whitney in their new life together!  Also Landon Coburn from my mission married Seara, a lovely young woman I have had the pleasure of meeting several times.  We wish them continued happiness in their new union.  That is all of the news I can think of for now.  If I think of anything else I will make another post!  Have a good one!

Spring 2011!!!

Wow, it has been a while since we last updated this. We have been awfully busy!!! We wish we could actually have a spring this year but I don't see that happening.
A lot has happened this spring so far. We had our first Anniversary. Time flies. I can't believe we have been married for a year already!!! We bought two cute little bunnies! They are so fun to let out and play with. I love to  hold them. Nate says they are just so relaxing. We have also put ourselves in the house market. We are trying to buy a house!!! I have to say, it has been an interesting experience so far. I can't believe how some relator's can be. We put in offer in on a house and they declined it. We have an offer currently going with another house that we really really like. We are so very hoping that we get it! We are excited and nervous to be possible home owners!!!
That is really all that is new. Oh, Nate has decided to go back to trying to be a vet. I hope he puts all his might into it!!! That would be such a great thing for him and I. We both loves animals!

Beautiful Views

Well it's been awhile since anything happened on the ol' blog, so  I though I would share a picture I took last night.  The sun was setting as Kati got home, and I saw a great picture opportunity.  This is a shot from our back yard, and I though it looked really cool!

Long Week...

It was a long week this week. My uncle's funeral was beautiful, hard, but beautiful. My sister, her kids, and my brother's baby and girlfriend were here since Thursday. It was nice to spend time with them. My dogs loved having the kids here. Especially Desmond. He got to play and be loved on. He loved it. Both dogs now are passed out from all the fun and stress they had this weekend. I can say Meka was happy to see them leave but I think Des was sad to see them leave. He kept looking at me and I could just tell he was asking if he could keep one. My sister and my windshield both got broke over the weekend. Mine just keeps cracking farther and farther in two spots. Thank goodness for insurance!
Tomorrow we go back to work, sigh... I felt like I had no weekend. Nate starts a new shift tomorrow. He is now going to be working 7-3. I am happy for this. By the time he is getting ready to leave I am getting up and I actually get to see him off. That will be nice.

Google Maps

Hey Everyone!
So I just wanted to share a recent discovery of mine with you.  I was recently goofing around on Google Maps trying to find some of my apartments from my mission when I discovered that they now have street view enabled in the larger cities in Romania!  (See below for an old Apartment of mine.)  Now obviously that part is only exciting to me, but after looking around, it is also available in other areas too!  Sadly not yet Ukraine, but the France- Switzerland area has VERY detailed images.  You can essentially walk down the street and go almost anywhere you want!  Ok, I just thought I would share.  Enjoy!
